Derek Taylor is the managing director of Ishoka, one of the UK's top interior design companies, specialising in the creation and implementation of show homes for the UK's leading homebuilders, including Barclay Homes, Crest Nicolson and Wimpy Homes.
He also designs interiors for businesses and for individuals and countless celebrities such as Patsy Palmer, Phil Tufnell and Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Derek has an interior design degree and extensive experience within the world of interior design.
He spent time as a theatre and art exhibition reviewer which gave him valuable insight into techniques for demanding and arresting attention and the use of lighting to add effect and drama.
He also designed and built catwalks for high-profile modelling events both in the UK and Milan where he spent a year working.
Derek is delighted that British homeowners are keener than ever to experiment with design and have become more discerning and confident in their design expression.
He also feels that the proliferation of home-based television shows has had a positive effect in raising the profile and importance of interior design generally.
Derek can also been seen co-presenting 60 Minute Makeover and House of Horrors for ITV1 and appearing on Living Television's hugely succesful Jade's Salon.
