The Royal wedding
The couple, introduced by Princess Diana, tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in July 1986.  The streets of London were lined with thousands of well-wishers trying to catch a glimpse of the happy couple and more than 500 million watched the union on television.

Family
The Duke and Duchess have daughters Princess Beatrice, 19, and Princess Eugenie, 17.  Although the couple separated in 1992, divorcing four years later, they have remained close and united parents, with the Duchess describing the Prince as her "best friend".

High flyer
One of the Duchess’ many hidden talents is her ability to fly an aircraft. Sarah became the first lady in the Royal family to receive her pilot’s license in the late 80s. She’s even flown with the RAF Red Arrows.

Are you young enough to remember Budgie the Little Helicopter? Even if you are familiar with the animated ITV show, broadcast in the early 90s, you may be surprised to learn the show was based on series of book written by the Duchess.

After her divorce the majority of press attention about the Duchess focused on her weight gain and money troubles. Sarah decided to move to America, where she launched a successful career as a diet guru. Here she is receiving a kiss from Hollywood royalty, Leonardo DiCaprio.

WeightWatchers
Upon until recently, the Duchess was a US spokesperson for WeightWatchers – a role she held since 1996. Her motivation speeches and understanding of weight issues helped increase attendance at WeightWatchers meeting in America by 60 percent.

Little Red
The Duchess has written several other childrens books, including ones based on the character of Little Red. Sarah created the character, who shares her trademark red mane, to represent US based charity Chances for Children, which she set up in 1994.

Model mum
The Duchess and Princess Beatrice looked stunning as they sashayed down the catwalk during London Fashion Week 2007. The pair strutted their stuff for Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief show to raise money for UK flood victims.

Like mother, like daughter
The Duchess’ decision to swap New York for a council estate in Hull, may have shocked some people. But, her daughter Princess Beatrice, 19, also caused a surprise this week. She's begun work experience as a personal shopper at London store, Selfridges.
