01Sarah Ferguson, aged just 26, looked radiant with her naturally curly locks and little make-up. She was pictured at a polo match in Windsor with Prince Andrew during their engagement in 1986.
02The couple, introduced by Princess Diana, tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in July 1986. The streets of London were lined with thousands of well-wishers trying to catch a glimpse of the happy couple and more than 500 million watched the union on television.
03The Duke and Duchess have daughters Princess Beatrice, 19, and Princess Eugenie, 17. Although the couple separated in 1992, divorcing four years later, they have remained close and united parents, with the Duchess describing the Prince as her "best friend".
04One of the Duchess’ many hidden talents is her ability to fly an aircraft. Sarah became the first lady in the Royal family to receive her pilot’s license in the late 80s. She’s even flown with the RAF Red Arrows.

06After her divorce the majority of press attention about the Duchess focused on her weight gain and money troubles. Sarah decided to move to America, where she launched a successful career as a diet guru. Here she is receiving a kiss from Hollywood royalty, Leonardo DiCaprio.
07Upon until recently, the Duchess was a US spokesperson for WeightWatchers – a role she held since 1996. Her motivation speeches and understanding of weight issues helped increase attendance at WeightWatchers meeting in America by 60 percent.
08The Duchess has written several other childrens books, including ones based on the character of Little Red. Sarah created the character, who shares her trademark red mane, to represent US based charity Chances for Children, which she set up in 1994.
