Among the top actors and actresses in Bollywood are:

Shah Rukh Khan: He is one of the biggest 'super hero's' in Bollywood films. He starred in Om Shanti Om, and is known for his good looks.  He won his first Best Actor award at the Filmfare awards in 1994, and continues to do so most recently winning Best Actor in 2008 at various award ceremonies.

Amitabh Bachchan: Also known as Big B, Amitabh is another big 'super hero' of Bollywood! His excellent acting has made him a star of Bollwood all over the world and has been recognised by winning nearly 20 awards in his 40 year acting career.

John Abraham: John is one of the busiest Bollywood actors having appeared in around 30 films in his six year Bollywood career!  Before this he was a model and appeared in many advertising campaigns and music videos.

Aishwarya Rai: In 1994, Aishwarya Rai won Miss World.  She also appeared in Devdas (above) in 2002, for which she won Best Actress award at the Filmfare awards, International Indian Film Academy Awards and Star Screen Awards.

Rani Mukherjee: Rani has starred in around 40 Bollywood films in just over 10 years. During this time, her acting has been recognised with numerous awards including; best actress award the years consecutively (2005, 2006 and 2007) in the Indian Film Acadamy Awards.

Kajol Mukherjee: Kajol is a fourth-generation actress; her mother Tanuja, maternal aunt Nutan Behl, maternal grandmother Shobhna Samarth and maternal great grandmother Rattan Bai were all movie stars in their day. She started her career in 1992 and has since starred in over 30 films and is constantly picking up Best Actress awards.
