Vive la French countryside!

What does it take to move your family to a new country?

Elizabeth and Simon Ellis gave up their hectic yet comfortable lifestyle in Hale, Cheshire to build a new life in the countryside with their four children.

At first the family moved to Cumbria, but it wasn’t what they expected so they looked at other options. Having holidayed many times in France, Simon and Elizabeth had developed a love for the country and decided it was where they wanted to be.

Simon gave up his job, they sold their beloved farmhouse along with most of their belongings and they moved to rural France. The whole family spent three-and-a-half years building a holiday villa from scratch which they rent out for parts of the year.

Take a look at the plucky pair's attempt to settle in a new country. And visit the Ellis's website to find out more about their villa; Le Grenier Ble at www.mengue.net
