The PM joins Holly & Phil to talk taxes, the future of the NHS, and Jedward!
Following the Queen's speech announcing 13 bills and two draft bills, Gordon Brown joins us to discuss the impact these will have on the problems facing Britain at the moment, including street crime, social care and the country's finances.
The PM also talked at length to Holly & Phil about Afghanistan. In response to Phil's question about the withdrawal of troops, the PM said: "When we build up the Afghan forces so that they can take control themselves, we'll bring our forces home."
On the subject of tax rises, Gordon Brown stated: "The pre-budget report comes out in the next few weeks and that's the right time to make these decisions. But what I would say is that we have had to raise the top rate of tax and we have had to deal with the pension tax but I think people think these are fair things to do."
The Prime Minister sees a healthy future for the NHS: "I think the future of the NHS and with new research into cancer and other diseases is one that is very bright for our country and we want to continue the investment in the front line services."
Gordon Brown also got a chance to explain his previous comments on the X Factor's Jedward: "I got into a bit of a problem because I said that I didn't think they were very good at singing but they are very good at others things!"
