About me
I recently made my debut as one of ITV’s regular chefs on This Morning - quite a change from my previous career as a 'digger driver'.
After coming second in BBC’s Masterchef Goes Large in 2006, I sought to change my life radically by leaving my 'digger driver' days behind to pursue my love of cooking and food.
I did a stint at the 2 Michelin-starred Midsummer House in Cambridge, after which, I returned home to Bristol to run a catering business specialising in dinner parties.
My love of food was inspired by my father, who cooked beautifully but was a tradesman by profession.
Although I became a digger driver, I always cooked for the love of it, and my friends and family persuaded me to enter Masterchef - and I went all the way to the final.
I was pipped at the post but was heartened that thousands of viewers to called in to pledge their support to me.
I also appeared on Food Uncut in 2006 and subsequently landed my own show Take on the Takeaway which aired on BBC2 in the summer of 2007.
But now Im thrilled to be cooking on ITV's flagship morning show.
