Bon Jovi: born leaders

One of the biggest rock bands in the world is back with new album The Circle.

With over 120 million album sales and countless awards under their belts, Bon Jovi join Holly and Phil to discuss their new album, and next year's world tour.

26 years into an incredible career, lead singer Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan and drummer Tico Torres are still as popular as ever.

Their new single We Weren't Born To Follow was released on Monday 2nd November 2009 as the first single from album The Circle.

Bon Jovi are preparing to spend two years spanning the globe on a world tour and will be back in London in June 2010, performing at the O2 Arena. The band are no strangers to the O2, as they officially opened the venue on the 24th June 2007, with the words: "Hello London, welcome to your new home".

Bon Jovi have also released a new documentary. When We Were Beautiful was made by filmmaker Phil Griffin to shed light into the world of a global rock band. They were followed on and off stage during their dates last year at Madison Square Garden.

Jon planned to take thing easy in 2009 with a greatest hits album, but that was before the world changed. He took inspiration from the global credit crunch and Obama's inauguration. "Suddenly there was subject matter flinging itself at me. I wrote a song called 'When We Were Beautiful, but it didn't feel right for a hits album. I got the band together and we realised that we needed to make a new album."

While other artists of their generation slow down, Bon Jovi are working harder than ever. Some say they are finally hitting their peak. Jon says: "I've been in a band with the three guys for more than half my life, but the story goes on. I can't seem to shake them off".
