Talented actress and musician Juliette is releasing her first solo album.
Juliette Lewis is recognised as one of Hollywood's most versatile actresses. She has appeared in over 40 films and at just 18 was nominated for an Oscar.
In recent years she has focused on music and has even been labelled as the hottest chick in rock! She joins Holly & Phil to chat about new album Terra Incognita and single Uh Huh.
Juliette has been working consistently in Hollywood since she was 15, starring in critically acclaimed films like Cape Fear. But while she became a well known name in Hollywood she was secretly harbouring musical ambitions.
In 2004 Juliette formed Juliette Lewis and the Licks, releasing two albums of high-energy, punky rock: "I'm really moved by music itself - the bass, the kick drum and crash cymbals. It's a visceral almost psychedelic connection."
Despite focusing her attention on her music career, Juliette has still found time to appear in four films in the past year, The Baster; Sympathy for Delicious; Betty Anne Waters; and Drew Barrymore's directorial debut The Whip, in which Juliette co-stars alongside Ellen Page, a rebellious Texan teen who swaps her beauty pageant crown for the world of roller derby.
One of Juliette's favourite things about music is her love of performing. "Live is the untouchable medium. Even in this digital download era, you can still cultivate something magical and new that lives and breathes in that moment only."
