The most successful female artist ever on her new album, new film, and first love.

Having sold more than 200 million records worldwide, Mariah Carey joins Holly & Phil to talk about releasing her twelth studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.

Mariah wrote a song called Imperfect, which didn't make it onto the album, but which gave the album its title. "I wanted to get across the message to kids and everyone out there that no one is perfect, and they don't need to strive to be perfect as the size zero people they see in magazines".

Mariah plays social worker Mrs Weiss in new film, Precious. Winner of three awards at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, the film is based on novel called Push by author Sapphire.

When actress Helen Mirren dropped out three days before filming, Mariah jumped in to play the role of Mrs. Weiss. Director Lee Daniels says: "I insisted that she showed up on set at a bare minimum". Mariah had to share a trailer and came with one bodyguard, not her usual entourage.

For Mariah, the road to transforming herself into Mrs Weiss was hard, and hairy! Mariah said that the director "wanted me to not just look plain, he wanted me to look homely. That was his goal. He wanted a moustache and an under-the-eye thing and the bad hair."

In 2008, Carey married Nick Cannon a few weeks after they properly met. Mariah said: "That did happened very quickly, but I had met him 2005 on an awards ceremony, he gave me the award and he just stared at me and didn't really talk".

Mariah has revealed that she would like children one day, but not quite yet. "Right now with this movie coming out and next few singles, I need to focus on that, I cannot do the having a child thing half way. I would want to be there for my child and I can't right now."
