EastEnder Nitin has all the gossip on his character Masood Ahmed's latest storylines.

It seems that every member of Masood’s family has some sort of controversy surrounding them at the moment, and none more than Masood himself.

Tonight, Masood’s true feeling for Jane Beale are revealed as the pair share a kiss - the problem is, they are both married with children, and Masood has another on the way!

Whatsmore, Masood’s son Syed is cheating on his fiancé Amira with none other than Jane's brother, Christian.

Nitin says he has really enjoyed being part of his current storyline. "It was really refreshing for me, I was worried for a while that Masood would always be attached to Zainab’s skirt, and then all of a sudden he started to get close to Jane."

Nitin believes the storyline is quite a classic romantic one: " What drew them together is that, although they love their partners, they are better matched to each other when it comes down to it, they are soul mates and appreciate each other more than they feel their partners ever would."

Nitin says that Masood and his family have some exciting storylines ahead: "There is an episode coming up where it is 'a day in the life of Masood', which is really exciting, and ends quite dramatically." He believes there is a lot of mileage left in Masood yet: "I really want Masood to expand, I want to see more colours to this character, which is what first attracted him to me, because he is eccentric."

When the Masood family first appeared in EastEnders, there was some criticism about how they portrayed an Asian family. Nitin says, "I think sometimes people take things a bit too seriously. You can never be critical, and there will always be a section of society that will be critical, whoever you are. I am an actor, not a spokesman for the community.”
