Charity hit by recession

A charity in West London is claiming the economic climate means it can no longer provide after-school clubs for disabled children.

Fran O'Brien founded the charity to help the children six years ago.

But the building that was used for them to meet up has now been closed down by the council and Fran cannot find any other place to keep the club going.

Fran O'Brien's dedicated her life to helping disabled children.

She specialises in art and drama and thinks her after-school clubs are a life line and the kids who go agree.

So the Charity Yadapa - or Young and Disabled and Positively Artistic needs a new home.

Most of the work Fran does involves specialist music equipment and that means space.

With money tight for everyone these days it is proving impossible.

Kingston Council used to provide the charity with a home and says it is working hard to find them a new one.

Fran is not feeling optimisic. So unless someone comes forward to help she says her charity will remain in boxes and the children will have nowhere to go.
