Autism Hour special: Christine McGuinness talks about her children who have autism and pays tribute to husband Paddy
CHRISTINE MCGUINNESS OPENS UP ABOUT BEING MUM TO THREE CHILDREN WHO HAVE AUTISM - AND HUSBAND PADDY SURPRISES HER WITH TRIBUTE
Christine has joined us before to talk about her three gorgeous children - Felicity, Leo and Patricia - who all have autism.
And she returned to support Loose Women's Autism Hour special to talk about family life.
TV presenter husband Paddy sent in a special message calling her an 'amazing woman and an amazing wife' which caused Christine to cry.
'I have to say he's amazing too,' she said as she paid tribute to Paddy too. 'I find it easy with the children, yes it's challenging but I just managed it but he struggled. He's so good but he has to be because he loves the children but just getting his head around the fact we've got three children with a lifelong condition that we knew nothing about.
'Nothing can prepare you for that, you have to learn on the job. He's doing absolutely amazing. He only spoke about it recently. I think it's harder for dads and men,' Christine added.
'We've always stayed so private anyway. We have a completely different world at home than when we're doing what we're doing.'
And Christine admitted it was tough but she and Paddy support each other.
'It's part of the parcel. The kids are always going to come first and we have to make time for ourselves when we can. We've been together 11 years and for the first time he's been at home for 10 weeks, that's never happened before,' she said. 'Even when we do go out we have to stay near the children's' schools. We can't go on romantic nights away and we still haven't been able to go abroad.'
'Thank god I married a comedian because we laugh every day.'
