A jilted policewoman has been off sick with a ‘broken heart’ for four months.

The detective, who is in her 40s, was devastated when her married policeman lover went back to his estranged wife. Now, Scotland Yard is offering full support to the female detective who has been signed off with stress.

Less sympathetic is former Met Commander John O’Connor who has branded the situation as ludicrous saying, “Four months is a long time to be off with a broken heart.”
