Should we Brits give up our love affair with home ownership?
In today's Daily Mail, a family have spoken about how they have found themselves in a rent rut after being forced to sell their home in 2008 because of the property crash.
Figures out this week show they are not alone. According to research released by the Department of Communities and Local Government, only 66 per cent of English people now own their home - the lowest percentage since Margaret Thatcher was in power 25 years ago.
So in austere times such as these, is it time for Britis to end thier love affair with home ownership? Have you recently bought a house?
