Marc Almond: 'I was beaten up on the way to see David Bowie and shook his hand covered in glitter and blood!'
MARC ALMOND TALKS ABOUT MEETING SOME OF HIS IDOLS...
'I toured with Cher and she had a wig room full of hundreds of wigs. You look better than her Andrea! When she went on stage anyone could have been under there!'
On David Bowie
'I went to see Bowie in concert in Liverpool when I was about 15 or 16 with my mates. I had glitter in my hair and was all dressed up. These guys got on the train and beat us up. I was at the concert down the front and David Bowie was singing Rock n Roll Suicide, "Give me your hand, give me your hand". I reached out my hand, I was covered in blood and glitter, and he said, "Give me your hand". It was a glam-rock epiphany. I didn't feel the bruises of anything else.'
