Hello, I’m Jenny, I’m 36 years old and due to an overly efficient metabolism I struggle to maintain a healthy size 8, I’m a natural blonde professional ballet dancer and super model.
Ok, let’s start again, I’m 51, I keep creeping up to a size 14, I do a bit of pilates and I like swimming, art, reading and seeing live stuff (as opposed to dead stuff).
I trained as an actress, began my career as a punk poet and ended up as a stand up comic, I’m also a writer and broadcaster. I’ve written plays, radio series, two novels and four comedy books, my third novel will be out in the summer of 2012. Me, me, me, me, me!
I live in South London in a house my partner built with him and the girl. The girl is actually 22 and a recent graduate, but that doesn’t stop me wanting to tell her what to do all the time.
I do struggle with control issues - which is the modern way of saying I’m a bossy cow, I’m happier working than not working which is worrying in this business and I’m horribly competitive.
Because of the stand up I’ve got a bit of a reputation for being loud and rude - which I can be, but I can also be a snivelling cowardly neurotic - great!
I can’t cook, but I’d like to learn, I’m very interested in fashion but can often look a mess- I like the idea of holidays but I never know where to go, oh and my favourite tree is the Monkey Puzzle tree.
The biggest regret of my life is that I can’t sing, like really can’t sing and I can’t dance either (but in my head I think I can).
I’ve done quite a lot of telly including I’m A Celebrity, lots of radio and heaps of live stuff. I am the co writer of the Grumpy Old Women Live shows, which toured the country, played in the West End and got translated into Finnish and Icelandic.
Last year they gave me my own Loose Women mug, but it got broken, I’m hoping they will give me a new one.
