Perfect picnic wear

In the UK you can never guarantee the weather be it August or December – but in the summer you’ve got to be ready to take advantage of the sun when it arrives!

So get the hamper out from under the stairs, spread out the chequered blanket, clink the plastic champagne glasses together and get yourself prepared to throw a wonderfully glamorous picnic. Such an occasion is no excuse to let your style lapse – a gorgeous frock that will make your friends quiver with envy is a must (and you don't even have to spend a lot on it!)

There’s nothing better than getting creative and conjuring up the perfect summer outfit to make you feel like a sun goddess. So here are a couple of ideas for you to create the perfect picnic outfit.

This beautiful floral number from Topshop is picnic perfect! It’s feminine, summery and will make you feel at one with nature. If you’re really daring then Boohoo.com do some amazing cream wedges which would give the dress a high-fashion look, however subtle summer sandals would go just as well.

High waisted skirts are all the rage this summer and suit most shapes and sizes. If you’re a member of the petite team then you can go for a tucked in tee. If a little more curvaceous then try a top over the skirt. Choose a short, quirky, baggy top, preferably something bright and you will create a unique and edgy look. Throw on some of your favourite accessories and you’ll feel in true party picnic mood, and don’t forget, this look is also great for all of you festival-goers out there.

Lastly, there are a few picnic essentials. A straw hat may sound an odd choice but it adds such a cute look to many outfits, and of course they also carry that ‘more practical’ side to them. A straw bag also continues the ‘hanging out with nature’ feel but also finishes the outfit off, and it’s always best to choose one that has the ability to accommodate at least four times more than I actually need to carry!
