Dress for Less: Wonderful wedding wear

Not too sexy, not too showy, not too white, there are so many rules around the perfect wedding guest outfit that we find ourselves becoming a little stuck on what to wear.

Fear not - here’s a couple of helpful tips and a few fancy suggestions to give you a bit of inspiration on the kind of thing you could choose to wear when attending the big day... without breaking the bank!

Firstly, for a wedding a dress or smart skirt is a must. We ladies want to look as feminine as possible, and these classic items do just that! The peachy frilly dress from New Look is divine and it represents the happy medium that often appears so difficult to achieve. If you want to look totally chic then make sure you and show those legs with a dress like this.

Romance is a big trend this summer, and what could be more romantic than a wedding? Reds, pinks, frills, silks and florals all follow the theme and are a great choice for such a special day. Take for example the gold silky dress from Reiss – everything about it shouts love and lust. But if you’re worried about showing a little too much flesh then Boohoo’s deep red dress with long sleeves could work just as well. It’s also great for keeping those arms covered in the church which is guaranteed to be a little cool.

However much effort you put into the look, you’ll still have to carry things around and this is where our good friend the clutch bag comes in. It’s a must have and you should go for something bright and colourful or chick and classy – whatever most suits your tastes, and your outfit.

Finish it all off with some high heels - a gorgeous pair with an ankle strap will make those legs look even sexier. Plus, if you are feeling super daring, you can wear a big bold necklace to add punch to your lovely lady number.
