NEW ROMANCE BLOOMS FOR MELINDA MESSENGER AND HER 'FIRST DATE' CHRIS HARDING.

Was it love at first date? That was the question on our panellists lips when they met Melinda Messenger’s new flame, celebrity photographer Chris Harding.

The new couple met on Celebrity First Dates and “just clicked” explained ex-model Melinda. Speaking warmly of her new beau, the loved-up pair aren't holding back when it comes to showing their affection for one another.

Melinda explained how her love for the celebrity photographer has blossomed since they met on-screen in the popular TV dating show. She added: “We said that we loved each other pretty early on actually. We were really overwhelmed by the positive comments online.”

TV-am’s fitness fanatic 'Mad Lizzie’ gives Andrea, Penny, Carol and Kaye a workout

BREAKFAST TV LEGEND 'MAD' LIZZIE WEBB PUTS ANDREA, PENNY, CAROL AND KAYE THROUGH A HIP-THRUSTING WORKOUT!

It's been 35 years since fitness instructor 'Mad' Lizzie Webb made her debut on ITV breakfast show TV-am.

And today, the 70-year-old made her return to daytime TV as she appeared on our panel.

It was Lizzie who gave Take That their big break after spotting the then-struggling pop group and inviting them to perform a workout with her to their new song 'It Only Takes A Minute Girl'.

The 1992 broadcast proved a huge turning point in the boy band's career and the song ended up at No.7 on the UK singles chart.

'I'd seen them on TV. I thought, 'These guys have got something,' and asked if they'd like to come on TV with me. We played It Only Takes a Minute Girl and it got them in the charts. Nicky Chapman was their plugger at the time and said me a note saying thank you.'

Nadia, Gloria and Jane play Mallett's Mallet with the 'utterly brilliant' Timmy Mallett!

ICON OF KIDS TV TIMMY MALLETT CHALLENGES GLORIA, JANE AND NADIA TO A GAME OF MALLETT'S MALLET... BUT WHO WILL BE CROWNED CHAMPION.

In ‘utterly brilliant’ news, children’s TV star Timmy Mallett joined us on today’s show, as our retro TV week continued.

Best known for hosting the Breakfast TV classic 'Wide Awake Club' before going on to present its wacky spin-off 'Wacaday', Timmy is most proud of making important historical moments interesting for young viewers.

‘The Berlin Wall was funny – we went there to tell the story about the fall of the Berlin Wall and my Director said, ‘just knock it down Timmy… with the mallet’, so I did!’.

The game Mallett’s Mallet came about after a brainstorm with Timmy and the team for a new game and Timmy says he will always love ‘noise and nonsense’: ‘My boss at TV-am said, ‘keep a wide-eyed wonderment of the world’, and I love that phrase and have kept it ever since’.

One of the most bizarre moments of Timmy’s life was when he bopped Margaret Thatcher on the head with the mallet: ‘I was at the House Of Commons Christmas party with the hammer and she came up and asked me ‘oooh what does that do’, and I said ‘it does this’… bosh.’

Timmy’s most recent project was one very close to his heart as he completed a 2,500-mile charity ride across Europe in memory of his late brother Martin.

The challenge received public backing from the Prime Minister Theresa May and the Duke of Cambridge, but sadly the bike he rode on throughout the challenge was stolen.

‘It was stolen outside my pub and yesterday I got a call from Thames Valley Police to say they’ve found the vehicle involved, it’s been abandoned in Slough, we’ve got forensics on it, and we think we’ve got a suspect’.

Watch the full chat with Timmy in the video above.
