And if you can't think of a reason to Bin Your Bra, we have a few...
A Lorraine and Elle UK survey has shown that 75 per cent of women have bras in their drawer they have not worn in over a year!
Furthermore, it would seem that the vast amount of bras could be affecting how often we wash the underwear items with a quarter only washing their bras every 4-5 days.
Over 2,000 women took part in the survey, which also showed that 81 per cent go for comfort over style, with just over half saying their bra size does affect their fashion choice. However, over two thirds usually prefer to wear an underwired bra with the same amount admitting to not having a bra fitting in the past 12 months.
This October, Lorraine’s Bin Your Bra campaign is giving women the perfect excuse to get rid of their spare bras by appealing to the UK to donate their unwanted bras.
Supporting Breast Cancer awareness month, many well known celebrities, including Barbara Windsor, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne and Dawn O’Porter have already given their bras to be recycled, in order to raise vital funds for research into the disease.
Against Breast Cancer will receive £1,000 for every tonne of bras donated, which are in turn shipped to developing countries in Africa where they remain too expensive to produce locally. Get more information at www.againstbreastcancer.org.uk.
