– Jacqueline Gold
Ann Summers boss Jacqueline Gold joined Lorraine for her first TV interview since revealing she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
Jacqueline Gold found a pea-sized lump in her right breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2016.
Thankfully now cancer free, Jacqueline says in many ways being diagnosed was the best thing to happen her and has changed her life for the better. She has reassessed her life and tells Lorraine that she has dramatically changed the way she lives "I walk every day, I juice twice a day. So many things I do now. I am pescatarian”.
She stressed the importance of regularly doing your own breast examinations and to always double check with your doctor if you are unsure. She told Lorraine "I’ve always been vigilant and [you should] check yourself every month. I felt there was some tissue that didn’t feel normal. I went to the doctor about something unrelated. I could feel this pea-sized lump. I had two lumps and it had spread to my lymph nodes. I know my own vigilance has pretty much saved my life”.
Jacqueline also revealed the reason she kept her breast cancer a secret, apart from the ones closest to her and the difficulty of telling her daughter who was only 7 years old at the time.
