Tracey's fight against violence
Today we meet the second of our three Lorraine's Inspirational Women of the Year finalists, Tracey Ford. Tracey's son, 17-year-old James Andre Smartt-Ford (known as Andre to his family or Dre to his friends) was shot and murdered in 2007, and despite a reward of £20,000 no-one has been caught.
Rather than falling into a pit of grief, Tracey set up the charity JAGS Foundation to help raise awareness of the devastation of youth on youth and gender based violence. She pays particular attention must be paid to young girls who may be vulnerable and living in the shadow of gang violence.
