Currently 800,000 people in the UK are living with dementia, with 500,000 of them suffering with Alzheimer's. The numbers are still rising, and people are being diagnosed much younger than ever before.
Former EastEnders star John Partridge has personal experience of the condition - his mother was diagnosed back in 2011 - and he's now working with the Alzheimer's Society to raise awareness. John is taking part in an annual event called the Memory Walk next month to raise money to help with much needed research.
For further information, visit the Alzheimer's Society, or head to the official Memory Walk website.
