Lorraine revealed she felt ‘honoured’ to receive an OBE from the Queen today for her services to charity and the Armed Forces but was worried about falling over!
The ITV presenter said: “I got the OBE for charity work and for supporting the Armed Forces. I am an Honorary Colonel of the Black Watch Cadets, I support Help for Heroes, Tayside veterans, Poppyscotland, Sightsavers, MS Society, The Eve Appeal and Comic Relief. I'm so honoured to be awarded the OBE and it's even more special as it’s Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee year."
Speaking this morning to ITV1’s Lorraine programme outside the Palace of Holyroodhouse, in Edinburgh, Lorraine admitted she was nervous ahead of receiving the honour.
“I'll be absolutely fine. As long as I don't fall over and squash the Queen - that is my fear - I'll be fine if that doesn't happen,” she joked.
Lorraine added: “The sun is shining, it's gorgeous, and it is so very special to be getting the award here in Edinburgh, it's fantastic. It's at Holyrood Palace just behind me, and I'm going to be here with lots of other people that are going to be getting honoured, and yes, it's going to be a really special day.''
