Ben Needham disappeared on a family holiday on the Isle of Kos back in 1991, as his 21st birthday approaches his mother Kerry talks about her battle to bring Ben home
Ben disappeared on the holiday Isle of Kos back in 1991 aged just 21 months, sparking a huge but ultimately unsuccessful police hunt. His mother faced hostility from locals and police who accused her of being an unfit parent.
Since his disappearance there have been hundreds of potentials signtings from tourists, sadly none have proved successful. Kerry believes that their family didn't get the level of help offered to the McCanns because they were too working class.
Kerry is writing a letter to David Cameron to beg him to let Ben's case be looked at by British police as she feels Greek police have abandoned the search for her son. Although South Yorks police have been helpful, she has been told that she can only have a liaison officer. Kerry feels very strongly that because UK officers flew out to investigate Madeline McCann's disappearance that Ben being treated differently.
Kerry intends to mark her son's 21st birthday with a gathering of close relatives at the family home in Sheffield. It's on the 29th October. Find more about Kerry's search for Ben on Lorraine tomorrow.
