This Spring, Lorraine is giving you the chance to see your homemade sweet treat recipe on the patisserie counter at Waitrose supermarkets across Britain!
Across the UK, we are not only eating sweet treats, we are whipping them up too. A One Poll survey exclusively for Lorraine found that more than a quarter of us bake at least once a week.
As we are a nation besotted with baking, Lorraine is offering you the chance to showcase your culinary prowess by sharing your scrumptious homemade sweet treat recipe with us whether it's cake, biscuits, buns, sweet pastries, tarts or a tray bake! We'd also love to hear your stories behind your favourite sweet recipes (this is not mandatory and not part ofthe judging process). One lucky baker will ultimately have their sweet treat on sale at supermarkets across the country.
Whatever your home made patisserie creation is, you’ll have to send in the recipe to be in with a chance of impressing our judges, including actress Debbie Rush who plays cafe assistant Anna Windass in Coronation Street; and family cook Alex Hollywood who is the wife of renowned master baker Paul Hollywood.
My favourite treat is a chewy, gooey lemon meringue pie - but I’m also very nostalgic and love any old fashioned cakes and buns, particularly a Victoria Sponge
– Debbie Rush
I’m looking for a tasty treat that is easy to make, is quick and simple and can be enjoyed by all the family. Whether it be a cake or a biscuit or something completely different, having a sweet something in the cupboard is a must for any family kitchen!
– Alex Hollywood
So if you think your sweet treat recipes could whip up a frenzy, then we want to stir you into submitting your recipe to Lorraine’s Taste Off now... where the proof really will be in the pudding!
