Dales star Dominic throws the bait

Dominic Brunt is best known for playing vet Paddy Kirk in Emmerdale - but he is also a self-confessed horror addict and is about to release his second film Bait in cinemas on September 4.

The actor and his wife Joanne came up with the concept, which is also directed by Dominic.

Describing the film, which is out on DVD on September 7, Dominic says: "The main themes of the film to me are - 'What do we mean by evil?' We throw the word around to explain away terrible behaviour. If you don't believe in evil (and I don't), what then?

"Also the fact that wherever there is ambition, there is someone there ready to exploit that ambition. The whole film is allegorical and relates to the banking system and the fact that there is no empathy, just profit above ALL."

The talented actor also chats about life in the Dales.

Sandra Bullock loves playing the villain

Finally I did a role that mirrored who I was in real life, which is crabby, evil and I feel the need to overtake everything

– Sandra Bullock jokes about her new role as ambitious villain, Scarlet Overkill in Minions

We know Oscar winner Sandra Bullock from Gravity, The Blind Side, Speed, The Proposal and lots more but in her new role, she's embracing the dark side as ambitious villain Scarlet Overkill in the Minions movie.

Sandra said of five-year-old adoptive son, Louis, "He doesn't know what I do. Work just means I leave and he doesn't like it when I leave. That's the way I'd like to keep it for a little while . I don't want him to like what I do. I want him to be embarrassed by me. That's what you do, you don't think your parents are cool! I want him to be like every other kid and think, 'ugh, she's so irritating.'"

It's party time for Tom and Gwen
