Azmina is a fully qualified registered dietitian and nutritionist who has won two professional awards - the National Award for Excellence for Outstanding Professional Achievement in 2002 and British Dietetic Association Roll of Honour in 2009.
Azmina works as a consultant to several UK health charities and has extensive networks. She is a skilled writer & originates articles, recipes & diet plans. She is able to give authoritative opinion on a range of diet-related topics and currently specialises in healthy ageing, nutrition trends, diabetes and social media campaigns. Her lively personality and down-to-earth approach help her to communicate scientific dietary principles using everyday practical language.
She is a media spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association and NHS Choices and was the This Morning nutritionist from 2006 to 2007.
Azmina has written over a dozen cookbooks including Diabetes UK’s The Diabetes Weight Loss Diet, with Antony Worrall Thompson, the best-selling Gi Plan, and Weight Watcher’s Millennium Cookbook. She advises the Food Industry on credible nutrition messages for on-pack advice & consumer PR initiatives.
Her belief is that healthy food can be tasty and is on a mission to help spread this philosophy.
