Journalist guilty over payments to police officer

Sun crime reporter Anthony France, 41, has been found guilty at the Old Bailey of aiding and abetting a police officer to commit misconduct in a public office after getting story tips from him.

While working at Heathrow Airport in SO15 counter-terrorism command, PC Edwards, 49, sold 38 stories and tit-bits of information to the journalist in exchange for more than £22,000.

Mr France will be sentenced on 29th May.

Ninth person charged over Hatton Garden jewellery raid

Detectives investigating the Hatton Garden jewellery raid have charged a ninth man in connection with the investigation.

John Harbinson, 42, of Benfleet, Essex appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with conspiracy to burgle.

It comes after eight men appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with conspiracy to burgle.

Colonel: Quintinshill rail disaster 'difficult to accept'

Retired Colonel of Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Martin Gibson said he is very proud of the men who lost their live in the Quintinshill rail disaster.

He told ITV News: "We are very proud of the men who gave their lives, even before they got to war. That is the thing we find terribly difficult to accept."
