Police have released a photograph of the red Mitsubishi stolen pick-up truck that was used to mow down and kill Pc David Phillips.
Pc Phillips, a married father-of-two, "didn't stand a chance" when he was hit by the truck in Wallasey in the early hours of Monday.
The vehicle - which had been stolen in a burglary - was later found abandoned.
