Labour leadership challenger Owen Smith will campaign in Liverpool later today.

His appearance in the city is seen by many as a move to undermine party leader Jeremy Corbyn, and an effort to reunite the party around him.

The Smith camp have identified Liverpool as a Corbyn stronghold.

His visit will see him attend the city's gay pride celebrations and meeting party officials at a special event.

His bid in "enemy territory" comes as Mr Corbyn holds another rally in Hull later on Saturday, as the two men slug it out for the Labour crown throughout the summer.
