US sending 50 experts to Africa to combat Ebola

The United States sending 50 disease experts to West Africa over the next 30 days in a bid to combat the outbreak of the Ebola virus, according the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The country has also issued a travel warning for three of the countries hit by the outbreak, The Associated Press reported.

Gaza school attack 'violation of international law'

The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency has expressed his "shock and outrage" over the shelling of school which he says amounts to a "serious violation of international law".

Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl said that 220,000 displaced people remain in schools across Gaza. He added that if the current conflict continues the Israeli army will have to "take over" from the UN in managing those displaced people.

Scotland claims gold in men's pommel horse final

Scotland's Daniel Keatings has won gold in the men's pommel horse final, leaving England's Max Whitlock claiming silver, and Louis Smith taking Bronze.

Three-time gold medallist Whitlock was not able to beat the Scotsman to take his fourth victory of the Games.

Olympic silver medalist Louis Smith took third place with a score of 14.966, despite losing his flow and taking a pause in his routine.
