A musician who played alongside Viola Beach at their final concert has suggested that alcohol was not a factor in their fatal car crash hours later.
John Olsson, from Swedish band Psykofant, said Viola Beach's manager, Craig Tarry, had not been drinking as he was the designated driver.
He added that his own band had drive the same route earlier as Viola Beach had taken and there had been "a lot of snow that day".
Mr Olsson paid tribute to the young British group as "fantastic" guys and "a great band".
"I was standing in the audience thinking I will be able to say I hung around with Viola Beach before they made it big," he said.
The band also uploaded a picture of Viola Beach on their Facebook page with a tribute.
"Something that should have been the start of their journey was instead the last show of the band did," they wrote.
