Children speak of terror as tornado hit school
President Obama today declared the city of Moore, Oklahoma, a disaster zone as 24 people, including nine children, were confirmed dead after a huge tornado hit the area.
Hundreds of homes were reduced to rubble and schools almost completely destroyed just before lessons were due to end.
In Moore, our team found relieved relatives of rescued children and desperate parents of those not yet accounted for.

Moore shelter plans hit by funding delays in February
Officials from the city of Moore had complained earlier this year that money for "safe room" weather shelters in residential properties had been delayed by red tape.
A statement posted in February on the City of Moore’s website read: “Our countywide Hazard Mitigation Plan still has not been approved by the State and FEMA.”
