Hague denial

The Foreign Secretary William Hague said this morning that he'd decided to go public with details of his private life because he'd had enough of untrue allegations circulating on the internet.

He has denied having an improper relationship with a male aide - who has since resigned over the claims.

Downing Street says that it is 100 per cent behind Mr Hague, who spent this morning in meetings with the German foreign minister.

He refused to comment further at a joint press conference at the Foreign Office.
