Joe Cocker's agent has said it will be "impossible" to fill the space left by the singer's death.

Barrie Marshall told the BBC that Cocker was "simply unique" and "it will be impossible to fill the space he leaves in our hearts."


Political figures tweet tributes to Glasgow crash victims

Political figures in Scotland took to Twitter this afternoon to pay tribute to the victims of today's fatal bin lorry crash in Glasgow.

Police have confirmed that six people have died in the crash and "at least" seven people have been seriously injured.

Glasgow Archbishop Philip Tartaglia said his "heart broke" for those caught up in the incident.

I was shocked and horrified to hear the news of this incident.

My heart breaks for all those who have been directly caught up in it as they go about their business just a few days before Christmas in the centre of Glasgow.

The circumstances could hardly be more tragic. I would ask any person of faith to pray for those who have died and their relatives and those who have been injured.

Official statement on death of Joe Cocker

Sony Music have released a statement on Joe Cocker's death at the age of 70.

John Robert Cocker, known to family, friends, his community and fans around the world as Joe Cocker, passed away on December 22, 2014 after a hard fought battle with small cell lung cancer. Mr Cocker was 70 years old.

Joe Cocker was born 5/20/1944 in Sheffield, England where he lived until his early 20s. In 2007 he was awarded the OBE by the Queen of England.

His international success as a blues/rock singer began in 1964 and continues till this day. Joe created nearly 40 albums and toured extensively around the globe.

The statement added that Mr. Cocker is survived by wife Pam, of Crawford; his brother Victor of Norfolk, England; his step-daughter, Zoey Schroeder and two grandchildren, Eva & Simon Schroeder.
