Low paid workers are to be lifted out of the tax system altogether, workers in the 'squeezed middle' should breathe a little easier and companies - which create work - see their taxes come down, too. But to pay for it all those who have stopped working, for example, pensioners, who will see their tax-free allowances frozen.
I'll be looking hard at the rest of the numbers for our programmes this evening to see whether it all adds up but the OBR (the independent budget watchdog) confirms Mr Osborne's plans are broadly neutral and there is no change to overall growth rates or his schedule in paying off debt.
So not dramatic changes in the economy but some fascinating changes to the country ... more anon.
