The multi-state Mega Millions jackpot has not been won since January 24.

The jackpot now stands at a whopping $540 million.

People are queuing for up up to four hours to get their hands on a ticket for the eagerly-anticipated draw on Friday.

The Mega Millions website says the draw is the largest in America with a percentage of the ticket price going to good causes in the state where the ticket is purchased.
