Students at the University of Colorado Boulder had a surprise on Friday when a wild bear walked onto campus.

After walking among the dormitories, the bear - thought to be between three and five years old and weighing 200lb - climbed a tree and stayed there for about two hours.

Colorado wildlife officials tranquilised the bear and waited for the huge animal to drop onto a crash mat below. He was later tagged and released back into the wild.
