ITV News has won the Television News Award at the One World Media Awards for its coverage of the desperate famine gripping east Africa.
Correspondent Martin Geissler and cameraman Andy Rex travelled to Hagadera Hospital at the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya to show the plight of thousands of starving babies and children clinging to life.
In July 2011, when the ITV News team was there, the hospital was trying to care for 100,000 patients when it only had 120 beds.
Martin said: "What set this assignment apart from much of the work wedo was the luxury of time. Spending a full week living and workingat Hagadera Hospital gave us a chance to fully appreciate the dedicationof the International Rescue Committee staff there.
"They save lives day-in-day-out with only limitedresources in the most basic conditions. It really was a privilege to watch themat work. This award is a recognition not of our work, but of theirs."
