Bodies of two soldiers killed in Afghanistan returned to the UK

The bodies of Corporal Andrew Roberts and Private Ratu Silibaravi, both of 23 Pioneer Regt Royal Logistics Corps, who were killed in Afghanistan on 4th May have been repatriated to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.

Friends and family gathered to pay tribute to the soldiers and place flowers on their funeral corteges as they passed on the way to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Corporal Roberts and Private Silibaravi were attached to the 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh Battle Group, serving as part of Combined Force Burma, when they were killed in an indirect fire attack on Forward Operating Base Ouellette, in the northern part of Nahr-e Saraj district.
