One ton doner kebab smashes world record
Dangling from a crane in the Turkish capital of Ankara, a one-ton doner kebab has been crowned the largest in the world.
Measured by the Guinness World Records, it set a new record at 1198 kilograms.
Cooks cut the doner into pieces on a special scaffolding set up near the 2.5 metre long kebab to prepare sandwiches for the waiting spectators.
The one ton doner was prepared by ten cooks from seven cows. It smashed the previous record which was set in Dubai with a doner kebab weighting 468 kilograms.
