Gary Barlow has taken to Twitter to thank fans for their support over the death of his daughter Poppy.
The Take That front man and his wife Dawn issued a statement earlier this week to announce that Poppy had been delivered stillborn in London on Saturday.
He tweeted today:
Your kind words and lovely messages are overwhelming. thank you
– A statement on the charity fund page
As fans and many of us as parents we all want to show love and support to the Barlow family.
Here we can make a difference, and leave united messages of love and support.
This is a united donation from all Gary Barlow and TT [Take That] fans.
Gary Barlow, who was crowned celebrity dad of the year in July, married Dawn Andrews in 2000. Poppy was their fourth child.
The announcement has cast doubt on whether the singer will appear at the Olympics closing ceremony on Sunday.
Take That had been widely tipped to play at the finale of the London 2012 Games. A decision is expected later this week.
It is not just the fans that have offered their support.
Musical theatre composer Andrew Lloyd Webber tweeted his condolences:
Dearest Dawn & Gary, Madeleine & I are devastated about news of Poppy. Our thoughts & prayers are with you and your family. @gbarlowofficial
As did Gary Barlow's fellow judge on "The X Factor" Tulisa Contostavlos:
My thoughts & prayers are with @gbarlowofficial and wife dawn tonight. Heartbreaking x
Along with former "X Factor" runners-up JLS:
