A British mother has told ITV News of her heartbreak after losing custody of her son in the Qatari legal system almost three years ago.
She visited the Foreign Office in London today to ask the Government to speed up diplomatic efforts to reunite them.
Rebecca Jones was married to a Qatari man, but when he died their son Adam was left at the mercy of the country's justice system.
ITV News correspondent Martin Geissler reports:
Adam was forced to live in Qatar with his late father's relatives who he had never met.
The 13-year-old has made a number of pleas on video, which he posted on the internet, asking to be allowed to come home.
Although the British government has said it would support Ms Jones in trying to overturn the custody ruling, she feels let down by the pace of diplomacy.
Adam himself has written several letters to the Prime Minister asking for help, and has even received a hand-written reply from David Cameron.
