China's vice-president Xi Jinping has not been seen in public for twelve days.
Last week, Mr Xi missed meetings with US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, as well as Singapore's Prime Minister, which prompted some to ask "Where is China's president-in waiting?"
Mr Xi's absence has also sparked rumours over the state of the 59-year-old's health. They have included that he has bad back, has heart problems, and even that he has suffered a car-crash injury.
It now appears that the once in a decade handover of power from one ruling group to the next could be on hold.
It is expected to happen next month but as yet no date has been announced.
