Twitter fail: UK ambassador offends Argentina
Britain's ambassador to Chile has said sorry after sending a tweet to his thousands of followers which mocked Argentina and its Falklands War defeat.
Jon Benjamin sent the message after securing a ticket for the World Cup qualifier between Chile and Argentina.
But he referred to a football chant, sometimes used by Chilean fans, which describes Argentinians as "cowards".
Tweeting in Spanish he asked: "Which islands did they take off who and for being what?"
The offending comment - which was reportedly meant to be sent as a private message - has been removed from the site.
