A koala was amongst the victims as a bushfire destroyed 2,000 hectares of land and at least seven houses in Australia.
The fire broke out near Tulka, near Port Lincoln in South Australia, on Sunday and is not yet under control.
The Country Fire Service (CFS) said the fire was, however, burning within containment lines and the threat to people and property had lessened.
There are no reports of injuries to residents or fire crews and the causes of the fire are still undetermined.
CFS state co-ordinator Malim Watts said it would be several days before the situation was considered safe.
