Ras al-Ain, Syria

Turkish concerns deepened after an air assault last week by forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad on the rebel-held frontier town of Ras al-Ain, which triggered some of the biggest refugee movements since the 20-month-old conflict began.

Dairy farmers sprayed thousands of litres of fresh milk at the European Parliament in Brussels in protest at what they say are excessive milk quotas and prices below the cost of production.
