US President Obama has said that he wants "concrete proposals" to curb gun violence by the end of next month, in the aftermath of the Newtown school massacre in Connecticut.

He has asked vice-president Joe Biden to coordinate the campaign and said that he will push legislation "without delay".

52% of Americans favour major restrictions on guns or making all guns illegal, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

On Tuesday, America's National Rifle Association said it is "prepared to offer meaningful contributions" to ensure a tragedy of this nature "never happens again".

ITV News Correspondent Emily Morgan reports from a shooting range in Litchfield, New Hampshire, where some gun enthusiasts say proposed changes will never work in practice.
