The Prime Minister has offered his support to a blog which aims to put a smile on the faces of troops serving in Afghanistan.

26-year-old Zoey Peace started a funny and touching blog to help her cope without her partner, Corporal Sam Garwood, who is serving in the Helmand Province, in Afghanistan.

During a visit to Afghanistan yesterday, David Cameron became the latest to lend his support as he posed for a photo with Joint Movements Unit Officers Flt Lt Tom Cousins and Lt Pip Hollins.

Miss Peace from Doddington, March, Cambridgeshire said:

This is fantastic news - when I launched the blog I never thought the Prime Minister himself would get involved.

It might not work for everyone, but for me this blog has been the right way to cope and show Sam I'm OK.

The fact so many other people have taken something from it has been a bonus. I'm still so overwhelmed at how far it's come.

Since the launch of the blog, more than 50 stars- including signer Katherine Jenkins, and presenter Lorraine Kelly have joined the cause.

A self-confessed "unconventional military girlfriend", Miss Peace said the blog was her chance to do something positive while Cpl Garwood was deployed for the second time with the 29 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps (RLC).
