A TV news helicopter pilot got involved in a dramatic sea rescue, when he unexpectedly came across a boat spinning out of control in waters off the western Australian city of Perth.
Brett Campany, an employee of the Australian broadcaster Channel Nine News, was on a routine trip when he spotted the boat's driver in serious danger in the water.
This footage shows the boat spinning in a circular whirlpool motion while the driver struggled to stay afloat nearby.
Campany was unable to help the man directly, but threw him a life jacket and called rescue services.
He then stayed at the scene until water police arrived and pulled the man to safety.
"You could see the relief on his face," said Campany, who said at first he thought he'd come across a whale.
