Why you shouldn't leave a game early: Coventry fan angrily calls radio station, not knowing team won
Let this be a lesson to those football fans not to leave early.
A Coventry City fan called in to a BBC radio station to voice his anger over his side's performance, not realising that they had actually won the game 2-0.
'Dan' left his team's Johnstone Paint Trophy northern area final game with Crewe a few minutes before the game drew to a close, with his side headed for a draw at 0-0.
The supporter then rang BBC Coventry and Warwickshire to complain about the Sky Blues, without knowing that Coventry had bagged a win in the final minutes.
An own goal from Crewe's Mark Ellis and a goal from Leon Clarke 30 seconds later brought home the win, although Coventry still lost 3-2 on aggregate.
The BBC radio host interrupted the supporter's complaints to tell him the correct score - leading him to claims that he was the subject of a prank.
