The hardship inflicted by a recession is spreading in Spain.

The number of people unemployed rose above five million last month. That is more than a quarter of the working population at 26 percent.

For young Spaniards it is worse still, sixty percent of them are now enduring the misery of having no job.

ITV News' Europe Editor James Mates reports, from the city of Jerez in southern Spain.
