British driver killed in Alps coach crash

The British driver of a coach carrying more than ski resort workers back to the UK died in a crash in the French Alps today.

Police said the coach was travelling more than 50 UK nationals home from the resort of Alpe d'Huez when the coach veered off the road after an apparent problem with the brakes.

Local media said the crash occurred as the vehicle travelled down a steep mountain road, which featured 21 hairpin bed.
