Karzai insists Afghanistan will not hold Taliban talks

The President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai says his government will not take part in any peace talks involving the Taliban - at least for now.

The first set of talks with America - to be held publicly - are expected to begin in the next few days. President Karzai says any talks must be led by Afghanistan.

If there is, eventually, a peace deal, the fate of the last American prisoner of war will be at the heart of it, as ITV News International Editor Bill Neely reports:
