Six years after his death, Italian opera singer Luciano Pavarotti is to be honoured posthumously at this year's Classic Brit Awards.

The tenor was offered the lifetime achievement award in 2007 but died before it could be presented to him later that year.

His widow Nicoletta Mantovani-Pavarotti told ITV News' Paul Davies she was honoured to collect the "really special" award on his behalf.

She also described how his career could have taken a very different path in insurance if he has not won a last-ditch competition.
