It is feeling more like autumn as we head into October.
The rain will become more extensive but despite the cloudy, damp conditions, the west will remain mild. As for the east, it will feel cooler with a chillier breeze.
We're caught between two contrasts in temperature in the next couple of days.
Chillier air is sitting through Russia and Scandinavia while warmer air extends across through Spain, Portugal and France.
The low pressure to the west of us will bring wet weather, but also a feed of milder air from the Atlantic.
The high pressure to the east isn't going without a fight though. It has managed to cling to eastern counties over the last few days keeping it drier - but with a feed of chillier air from the continent in the form of a brisk breeze along North Sea coasts.
